🌈 Here's what to expect:
The Frontrun is not just a beautiful run in the Cologne Stadtwald — it has been a firm symbol of diversity, solidarity, and queer visibility in sports since the 1990s with over 100 participants .Whether you're a competitive runner or simply enjoy being active and part of a community: here, what counts is the togetherness. Look forward to an open, warm atmosphere, music, good vibes, and lots of smiling faces.
The pairs run (all genders) is a special highlight of our Frontrun and is a lot of fun. Grab your better half, friend, colleague, or neighbor, run 5K together through the green Stadtwald, and cross the finish line (important!) holding hands together under the rainbow.

Timing is done manually with a precision of +/- 3 seconds. The course is measured manually with an accuracy of +/- 200 meters. There is no age group classification.

- 10:00 – 11:30 AM: Bib pickup
- 11:45 AM: Group warm up
- 12:00 PM: Start for all participants
- approx. 1:45 PM: Award ceremony

The Jahnwiesen offer plenty of space for warming up, celebrating, and cheering — right in the middle of nature yet still centrally accessible.
🗺️ Course routes
Start and finish of the Frontrun are located together on the Jahnwiesen under a large rainbow. The participants of the 5K runs do one lap, the participants of the 10K runs do two laps. The course is marked alphabetically and staffed with extremely friendly and motivating course marshals.
🍰 Cake for a good cause
After the run, a cake buffet awaits you, to which everyone in our running group has contributed. Thanks to everyone who bakes, donates, and enjoys!

❤️ Warm-up, music, and course marshals at the Frontrun
Around the Frontrun, a program awaits you — created by the community, for the community:
- Refreshment stations along the course — water is available for all runners.
- Course marshals ensure a smooth run and First Aid is available in case something goes wrong
- Cake buffet with cake from everyone for everyone — the proceeds go to the anyway e. V.

🎉 Party and Bitchy Bingo at the Janus Queer Games
The Frontrun is part of the Janus Queer Games, which take place across the whole weekend in Cologne.
Around the run, a colorful program awaits you:
- Friday evening: Start of the Queer Games – Meet & Greet on Schaafenstraße
- Saturday: 12:00 PM Frontrun 2025 starts
- Saturday evening: Official Janus Queer Games Party in Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld
- Sunday morning: Bitchy Bingo Brunch with Pam Penko at Cafésaurus
🎽 Cloakroom, changing rooms, showers and toilets
In the RheinEnergieStadion, all participants have access Changing rooms, showers and toilets (gender-neutral) available in the Abel buildings.
In the stadium car park there is a Cloakroom for storing clothing and valuables – and additionally a public toilets (Urinal: free, cubicle toilet: free with coin chip from the organisation team)
